When You Need a Vehicle POA

A vehicle POA is used when the registered owner cannot attend the Roads and Transport Authority in person to complete a sale, transfer, or registration. This is common when the owner has left the UAE, is travelling, or has delegated fleet management to a representative.

RTA Requirements

The RTA requires the POA to clearly identify the vehicle by make, model, year, and chassis number. The scope must state the specific authority being granted — sale, transfer, registration, or a combination. Vaguely worded vehicle POAs are more likely to be questioned at the RTA counter.

The document must be notarised before use.
